INSTALLING – 10 MINUTES

After purchase, we send you an email immediately - usually arrives within minutes. If you don’t receive it, check your Junk Email box! This email contains the link which downloads the software to your Garmin:

Troubleshooting Plugin problems

Try a different browser

If your Computer is not detecting the Garmin it is most likely a problem with your internet browser. Please try an alternate internet browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to load the download page. This is the most likely solution and we strongly recommend trying an alternate browser.

Other solutions

You may need to reinstall the Garmin communicator plugin and then reload the download page, you can do this via: www8.garmin.com/products/communicator

You can test if your Internet Browser is working correctly with the Plugin on this page: www8.garmin.com/products/communicator/test

USB support

Your computer uses USB Mass Storage Mode to detect your Garmin unit. If your computer does not detect your Garmin unit, you can try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Unplug the USB cable from the computer.
  • Turn the unit off and then back on again.
  • Plug the USB cable into your computer.
  • The unit either automatically goes into USB Mass Storage Mode or displays USB Mass Storage Mode as an option on the screen.

Note: If your computer still does not detect the unit, make sure that you plug the USB cable directly into the computer USB port and not the USB hub. If the cable is already plugged directly into the computer, try plugging it into a different port.

If you still experience problems after trying all the above, there may be a problem with your Garmin unit, please contact Garmin Product Support on 0808 238 0000 , stating that your internet browser is not recognising your Garmin unit via the Garmin Communicator Plugin.

We also recommend keeping your units firmware up to date using Garmin's web updater at www8.garmin.com/products/webupdater

USING THE PRODUCT

Click on Where to to find your product:

Then Extras:

Then Select your Product or Route to explore. The POIs (Points of Interest) can be seen if you press POIs at the bottom.

Press Preview before leaving on a Route (AA Best Drive). You now should be able to see the route as below. 

Simply press Go! on the route to be taken from your house and right round the route.

Viewing Points of Interest

Your POIs will be listed b proximity as you travel- clicking on them enables you to read the text, view the picture or Go!

Simply press Go to visit a Point of Interest

All RoadTour POIs have reviews and descriptions about the location:

Narrative Audio

Auto-play will automatically launch a commentary on approach.  To turn Auto-launch ON or OFF select Tools (spanner icon), then Proximity Points.

Then press Tourguide to select ON, OFF or PROMPT (prompt gives a text warning).
