“Coleton Fishacre might sound like a character in an American crime thriller but it is in fact a magical house and garden built by a famous family of theatre impresarios. Sir Rupert D’oyly Carte is said to have found the delightful spot on the South Devon coast one day when he was out sailing. He decided to buy the land and make it his home. The 1925 house is designed in the Arts and Crafts style (with a strong emphasis on simplicity and good craftsmanship) and the interior is Art Deco. Sir Rupert and his wife spent more than twenty years creating a spectacular garden and it is this which draws most visitors to Coleton. Descending down the valley to Pudcombe Cove it takes a couple of hours to walk around properly. There are exotic shrubs from all over the world and at moments it is almost like being in a jungle. Water features heavily here, there are ponds and a stream running through the middle of the garden. The gazebo above the quarry provides breathtaking views out to sea. The paths are filled with the colourful blooms of hydrangeas, rhododendrons, camellias and magnolias. In spring the bluebell wood is a deep carpet of blue. The National Trust originally purchased the estate because it wanted to open up the coastal path which runs through it – but soon realized what a treasure the house and garden were too. ”

“Thanks very much for your help. Gone out and got a 1Gb card and all is now loaded. One way of rating a company is the back up support and you score 10/10 .”
Graham, London

“The content is good and the level of detail about right, enough to pique your interest but not so much that you feel you're attending a lecture.”
Sam, Manchester

Linda, New Jersey
