“Levens Hall is a splendid Elizabethan mansion built around a 13th century Pele tower. Much of the present building dates from the late 17th century when Colonel Grahme bought the Hall from his cousin, Alan Bellingham, who had squandered his wealth playing card games. Grahme added east and south wings, and filled the house with fine Jacobean furniture and works of art including the earliest known examples of English patchwork. Celebrated garden designer Guillaume Beaumont, who cut his teeth at Versailles, was commissioned to design the gardens shortly after he’d finished laying out the gardens at Hampton Court. The layout of the yew and box hedges has remained largely unchanged for 300 years, and it takes four gardeners five months each year to clip the topiary into columns, pyramids, and all sorts of abstract shapes. A further attraction at Levens Hall is the multitude of ghosts which reside there. A phantom black dog has been seen darting up the central staircase on several occasions and the story is told of the Grey Lady who occupies Levens Bridge at the entrance to the Hall. The barefooted Grey Lady was often seen to appear in front of horses as they pulled their coaches up the driveway to the Hall. In more recent times, she has appeared suddenly in front astonished motorists who have had to swerve or brake to avoid her. ”

“Thanks very much for your help. Gone out and got a 1Gb card and all is now loaded. One way of rating a company is the back up support and you score 10/10 .”
Graham, London

“The content is good and the level of detail about right, enough to pique your interest but not so much that you feel you're attending a lecture.”
Sam, Manchester
