“Standing at an impressive height of 100 feet this imposing red brick tower dominates the surrounding Lincolnshire countryside. Tattershall castle is square with four hexagonal towers, one on each corner. The keep is four storeys high and has a roof gallery that is built out on a ledge which is said to be the only one of its kind. Ralph, the 3rd Lord Cromwell, adviser to Henry V and later Lord Treasurer to Henry VI, built the present castle on the site of a previous 13th century stone castle, of which little remains. It is said that up to a million local bricks were used to build the tower and other associated buildings. Following his death in 1456, the castle fell into neglect until its purchase and restoration by Lord Curzon of Kedleston, once the British Foreign Secretary and Viceroy of India, in 1911. Records show that the state rooms were once richly furnished and the chambers were warmed by immense gothic fireplaces. Lavish tapestries and ornate chimney pieces are thought to have been amongst the decorative touches. Upon Lord Curzon’s death, the property was left in the care of the National Trust. On a clear day, the isolated tower house commands spectacular views over the Lincolnshire Fens, as far as Lincoln Cathedral. ”

“Thanks very much for your help. Gone out and got a 1Gb card and all is now loaded. One way of rating a company is the back up support and you score 10/10 .”
Graham, London
