“Surrounded by more than 800 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, Kedleston Hall is a magnificent sight. The estate has been in the Curzon family since the 12th century. In 1758 that Sir Nathaniel Curzon, the 1st Lord Scarsdale, chose to have the old house demolished and rebuilt in a style that reflected his love of Italian architecture. The winding pathway up to the house gives the illusion of a Roman temple with towering columns and an impressive stairway leading to the entrance. The house and grounds were designed by Robert Adam, a Scottish architect and interior designer – considered by many to be the greatest architect of the late 18th century and a leader of the neo-classical revival in England. The interiors have been altered very little and are amongst the best examples of Adam’s work. There are impressive collections of paintings, as well as artefacts and furniture collected by Lord Curzon when he was Viceroy of India in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The ladies who dust in the house are said to believe that the ghost of the first housekeeper is there, watching and keeping an eye on them whilst they work! The gardens allow continuous views of the spectacular surroundings. There are numerous sculptures, as well as a sunken rose bed and plentiful flower beds. There are five lakes, laden with wildfowl, and several walks to enjoy. ”

“Thanks very much for your help. Gone out and got a 1Gb card and all is now loaded. One way of rating a company is the back up support and you score 10/10 .”
Graham, London

“The content is good and the level of detail about right, enough to pique your interest but not so much that you feel you're attending a lecture.”
Sam, Manchester

Linda, New Jersey
