“Atop a hill in Leicestershire, the majestic Belvoir Castle towers above the surrounding countryside. It is here that the very British tradition of tea-drinking is said to have been established. King Charles II had brought some tea back from the Netherlands after his exile there. But it didn’t really catch on until Anna, Duchess of Bradford and lady-in-waiting to Queen Victoria, began inviting her friends round to Belvoir for afternoon tea! Previous inhabitants could probably have done with a soothing cuppa too. The castle was originally built in the eleventh century as a Norman fortress. During the Wars of the Roses it passed to Lord Hastings who decided to use the stone and roofing to build another elsewhere. When Henry Tudor came to power what was left of Belvoir returned to the Ross family – descendants of the original owner. Thomas Manners, the 1st Earl of Rutland, acquired it through marriage and the castle remains in the family today. It was rebuilt twice more and was a notable stronghold of Charles I’s supporters during the English civil war. What we see today is the restored 17th century version. ”

“Thanks very much for your help. Gone out and got a 1Gb card and all is now loaded. One way of rating a company is the back up support and you score 10/10 .”
Graham, London

“The content is good and the level of detail about right, enough to pique your interest but not so much that you feel you're attending a lecture.”
Sam, Manchester
