1) What is the difference to normal Points of Interest?
With your Sat Nav you have tens of thousands of points of interest already. What RoadTour offers you in addition is richness of information on those points of interests with audio, descriptions, reviews and pictures.
2) Which devices does RoadTour work on?
Today it works on the latest Garmin Sat Navs (nüvis, zūmo™, and the StreetPilot® c550, 2730, 2820, 7200 and 7500) and with all mobiles based on Microsoft Mobile. Only Nuvis with MP3 capability support the audio function of RoadTour (the Nuvi 200 range has no MP3 capability but the 300s, 600s, 700s, 800s, 5000 all do).
3) How do I access RoadTour on my Garmin Sat Nav?
On most units select Where To? – Extras – Custom POIs.
On older units, it is found at Where To – My
Locations – Custom POIs
4) How often will locations pop up?
At 50mph, roughly about once every 15 minutes. Most locations have a 5-10 mile alert area out of town, in some dense city areas such as London the alert area is 1 mile.
5) What media is RoadTour available on?
You can download any RoadTour product and install it to your own SD card for use with your Garmin Sat Nav. Or you can choose to have your order pre-installed on an SD card ready to use with your Sat Nav.

7) Can I install RoadTour onto the internal memory of my Garmin or Microsoft Mobile?
The answer is ...maybe! It depends on your model. For most Garmin’s you could install the Pubs Guide, Restaurant Guide or City Walking Tours but not the Heritage product. We recommend using an SD card where possible.
8) When I get my download or SD card - how do I install it?
Once the download is complete, locate and run the file, then the install wizard will talk you through the process. This will install the files on to the storage card (SD or Micro SD) of your Sat Nav or Mobile (for those interested, the .gpi file should end up in the following folder: SD card/Garmin/POI). If you have ordered the SD card then it is ready to go and can be inserted straight into your Sat Nav with no install needed.
9) What if I need support?
We don’t expect you’ll have problems, but we’ll give you unlimited support to get RoadTour working via email, instant messaging and the telephone. We'll also provide you with a step-by-step user guide when you order.
10) Will RoadTour work anywhere?
Yes - RoadTour will work anywhere. To get a live GPS fix, you generally need to be outdoors, in a car or by a window - otherwise RoadTour will assume you are at the last visited location.
11) Won’t RoadTour be off-putting when I'm driving?
You can turn RoadTour off or simply set the configuration to keep quiet, so it’s up to you how you use it. When driving, it makes sense to use the automatic audio option which triggers when you approach the location. We find that RoadTour works best when dived into from time to time - maybe for part of a journey, at a pit-stop or at the destination to explore the surrounding area.
12) Will there be updates for RoadTour?
We release frequent free updates and improvements to improve functionality with new Garmin software as they release it.
13) Will RoadTour be available for other Sat Nav systems?
We are currently working on RoadTour for TomTom, Apple and Nokia and expect developments in early 2009.
14) How can I uninstall RoadTour?
Yes, RoadTour can be uninstalled just the same as any other software on your Sat Nav (just delete the file) or mobile device.
15) Can I install RoadTour with my Mac?
Yes, Mac users can buy RoadTour on an SD card. The download will only run on a Windows PC.
